I was very spoilt on Christmas Day and was given a new camera lens!!! It’s a Nikon VR 18-200 lens, and I love it! I’ve had a bit of free time over the past few weeks to get out and use it. Here are a few of the pictures I’ve taken.
The blues of this ocean get me every time. From the aqua to the navies, I could just stand in awe and look at them all day.
We’ve had some really extreme heats and weather in the last two weeks. I love summer, but it has been extreme! The hot weather, though, makes for a good excuse to go out for a late evening visit to the beach and see some gorgeous sunsets. There have been some spectacular ones recently.
A visit to the farm always means a drive around the sheep. Things are a lot drier in January then they were in October when I last visited (you can see the difference here). At the same times as expecting things to be dry, golden and brown in summer, it always shocks me a little at how dry it gets when I don’t go there regularly.
Another sunset silhouette at the beach.

Love the photos!
Thanks Hayley, I’ve had fun with the new lens!
Incredible photos.
Thankyou so much Eva
Glad you were spoiled with a new lense — you deserve it. My youngest ponytail wants to write something: Kiera … (Her name) favorite number: 4……
Thank you
It was a very good present…very spoilt! Say hi to Keira, she is very good at typing
.
…Isn’t it amazing how young this generation are learning to type! I think I was 15!
Congratulations on your new lens! Love the pictures
They are all gorgeous; especially the first one. I love the rocks, sky, and water colours. And the 2nd and last ones were beautiful skies and calm water. And then the picture of the sheep really displays the difference of the wetness of the water in the other photos, and the dry land of the pasture. Excellent my dear!!
Thank you very much Judy! The sunsets are probably my favourite ones too, but the sheep and the pastures was a good one to show the contrast in landscapes
It’s either you take good pictures or you have a good camera. I am pretty sure it’s the first. How lucky you are for having a new camera. In my first few Post I asked for a camera for Christmas. I did, a hand-me-done. It works and I’m so loving it too.
Thankyou
it doesn’t matter what sort of camera if you enjoy using it!
Perfect photos! A really good gift for a photography enthusiast like you. Looking forward to more beautiful pics.
LUXESSED
Yay for the new lens! Love the pics you’ve taken, looks like you are putting it to good use! What Nikon body do you have?
It is great to have a new lens! Very excited!! I use a Nikon D40x, so it’s old for a DSLR and in dire need of a service and clean, but still a great camera and perfect until I can afford a new one.
Mine is a Nikon D40, so older than yours!
It’s not just the tools, it’s also the skills that count. Send yours in for a clean every so often – helps get rid of dust on the sensor – massive difference! I get mine done in Sydney CBD for about $70 every year or so.
Thanks for the tip on the cleaning…one of those things that has been on my list for awhile!
It’s always fun to get new camera equipment! Congrats on the new lens! And really nice pics – thanks so much.
Thanks John! I love playing with new camera equipment too!
Congrats on your new lens. Lucky you! Really love the sunset silhouette photos. Looking forward to seeing more.
Thank you
The silhouettes are my favourite photos too.
What lovely summer shots my friend
Cheers

Thankyou, my favourite time of year!
Oooh,…What bright & airy pictures! The sheep look like they just look deep into your eyes,…dreaming aways!
I meant away!
